Brightpoint's Finance function has been successful in supporting the growing business; however, as Brightpoint continues to grow there may be opportunities in Finance to improve controls, standardise processes, gain efficiencies and further support market growth and entry.  Therefore, the Brightpoint Board of Directors and Executive staff decided to design and implement a Shared Service Centre in the EMEA region for a number of Finance processes.

  • The Shared Service Centre (SSC) will converge and streamline our finance functions to ensure the delivery of services as effectively and efficiently as possible, in a single geographic location. 

The scope of the SSC is to undertake the following processes in the SSC in Barcelona rather than in country:

  • Finance interface to Purchase orders, goods receipt
  • Accounts payable
  • Staff travel and expenses
  • Payroll interface to Finance (payroll posting to general ledger)
  • Master data management (customer/vendor)
  • Invoicing (customer and supplier)
  • Credit management, collections including negotiate and agree contract terms, credit analysis (in-sourced and outsourced), collection and debt recovery policies and procedures and customer billing enquiries
  • Accounts receivable (to the extent of issuing stock invoices, credit notes, preparing forecast sand statements)
  • Accounting including general ledger, inventory accounting, sales commission processing (interface to finance), inter-company accounting and fixed assets (excludes cash management)
  • Standard finance reports and routine analysis
  • Specialist regional controllership activities (including tax, compliance as appropriate)
